Founded in 2010, HOPE (Helping Our People Excel) is a dedicated organization committed to fostering growth and development within communities. Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Dwan Robinson, an esteemed African American professor, and the experienced guidance of Vice President Mr. Tracy Robinson, who brings over 30 years of expertise in state and local government, HOPE has established itself as a beacon of support and excellence.

Based in Columbus, Ohio, HOPE thrives on its core mission of empowering individuals and communities through comprehensive training, innovative design, and active community and parent engagement. Our initiatives are meticulously crafted to benefit children, ensuring they receive the support and resources necessary for their holistic development.

ABOUT US

Dr. Dwan V. Robinson


Dwan Robinson, PhD, is an Associate Professor in Educational Leadership at Ohio University. Her research focuses on educational leaders as catalysts for student and community engagement, school-community collaboration, mentoring experiences for faculty and students, and the educational experiences of African Americans and other under-represented groups. Dwan holds a B.A. in Government from Oberlin College, an M.A. in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, and a Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership from The Ohio State University.

Dr. Dwan Robinson was awarded the Distinguished Faculty Mentorship Award 2024 from Ohio University Patton College of Education for outstanding achievement and dedication to academic excellence.

Mr. Tracy Robinson


Mr. Tracy Robinson has B.A. in Political Science from Oberlin College. He received his Masters degree from the Ohio State University and his Ph.D. from Ohio University in Instructional Technology and Design in Fall 2024.

His exception work has been acknowledged by
Ohio University Appreciation Award for his exceptional support and dedication to the advancement of Brothers Rise. Currently, Mr. Robinson is mentoring five African American males in the College of Education to pursue careers in teaching.
